The Northern Territory has recently, on the 17th July 2020, opened the borders for interstate travel. There have been reports of an upsurge in travel to the NT following this easing of restrictions. Whilst there are currently only one active case throughout the Top End, adequate hygiene practices and social distancing are still paramount in ensuring the public safety of all Territorians.

Beginning from 12:00PM today is the 3^rd and final stage of the Northern Territory Government “Roadmap to the new normal” introduced on 30th April. While the majority of restrictions put in place to reduce the risk of Covid-19 spreading in the NT were lifted in Stage 2, stage 3 lifts restrictions on several outlying activities. Stage 3 now allows the public to attend activities and venues such as TAB’s, gaming facilities, theatres, nightclubs and bars (without requirement of consumption of food). Restrictions on beauty therapies and cosmetic services (including facial care) have also been lifted.

Today marks Stage 2 of the 3 stage roadmap introduced by the Northern Territory Government on 30th April, for the reduction of the ongoing restrictions put in place to reduce the risk of Covid-19 spreading. Stage 2 of the Roadmap now allows the public activities such as the serving and consumption of food/beverages in restaurants, cafes and Bars. Beauty therapy salons are reopening for (non-facial) services, such as nails, massages & tanning. Indoor physical training gyms are also permitted to operate for activities such as Yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, etc.

The main objective is to allow our members to be more familiar with the zoom platform and to get a basic idea on whether each of their Committee may want to utilise this feature to assist in communication.

With the ongoing efforts to support the Government in practicing physical distancing to fight the spread of COVID-19, North Management have started implementing procedures and processes to ensure service continuity to all of our members are maintained. Our office remains closed for the time being and keys access for members and contractors are arranged via telephone or email. North Management acknowledges the need to ensure communication between strata managers and committees stays open, to this end North Management have started adopting Zoom online conferencing platform for our meeting needs.

North Management is closely monitoring the impact and changes that are occurring due to the continued spread of COVID-19 within Australia and especially developments in the Northern Territory. In preparation for worst case scenario where a lock-down may be enacted, we are asking all our strata properties to nominate a committee member who lives at the property to obtain a set of keys for their property in cases where emergency maintenance may be required. To bypass the need for contractors to attend to North Management office to sign out keys in the event an emergency repairs is required, contractor is able to meet onsite with the nominated representative of the Body Corporate and provide access to the contractor to carry out any necessary work.
